5 Reasons Bear is a Candidate for my Second Brain

For about 3 weeks, I’ve been using Bear for journaling and notes.

My spread-out second brain became way too much, so I’m looking for simplicity as I rebuild my Personal Knowledge Management system.

During the past 3 years, I’ve been to Roam, Obsidian, and LogSeq.

My track record for sticking to a specific digital tool is abysmal, which has been part of why my PKM blew up.

Will I stick with Bear? I’m not sure.

What I like so far about Bear App

  1. Drag and drop lists ordering is here! (beta)
  2. Simple to export or copy/paste
  3. Easy to cross-linking notes.
  4. Already have a library.
  5. It’s beautiful.

The only problem I’ve found so far

Building and using templates is cumbersome.

The workaround adds a layer of complexity, but so far, it’s working well. I’m using a Drafts for templates, then actioning the work to Bear.
